Backstory: Ty says, "I wrote this song about my Bubbie and Zada (my grandparents), who were married for seventy-four years and were crazy about each other right up until the end. It always felt like they knew the secret of life, and the secret was love. Ingrid and I always say we learned from the best. Even though they were born in the 20’s when there was no real context for being gay, they could see that we have what they had. They danced at our wedding. And after they passed away (within a few months of each other) I wrote this song to honor their message: “I’ve had my share of anger / I’ve picked my share of fights / And now I’m trying to remember / How anything can matter / Except for the love we gave each other / Except for the love.”
